Before getting into the world of business, I always thought there were prerequisites to becoming successful in the industry. The automatic image of a business person I would get is a middle-aged Caucasian male. It was pretty discouraging considering I don’t exhibit those characteristics. Yet, everywhere I turned, the media managed to portray the exact same image.
I managed to dismiss this obstacle and continue my path, being fully conscious of the different treatment I can receive. I soon learned that not meeting stereotyped expectations for a business person can turn into unnecessary issues. Experiencing this for myself made me realize that I can’t be alone. With my merchandise, not only do I want to speak to ALL entrepreneurs and free-thinking individuals, but I want to connect with the women and minorities in business that feel underrepresented by our society.
In a world where a fixated mindset is the norm, we need to make sure that we don’t change who we are for us to become something greater.
